Leadership

After two tours in Afghanistan and watching our Soldiers fight and sacrifice all alongside our Afghan partners, now I am told that that we really have no strategy from my Commander's administration. Listen to the General you appointed last spring. Give your Leaders in the Field and the Afghans we have promised to help what they need.

The Kagans, Fred and Kim, have released their own Afghan strategy paper this morning, calling for a boost in US forces by 40,000 - 50,000 to be added to the 68,000 currently penciled in.

Leslie Gelb, writing in the WSJ this morning, looks to find a weasel's compromise to get Obama out of his bind, a policy fight concentrated within his own party. Mr Gelb proposes a boost of 10,000 additional troops. Mr Gelb isn't serious about winning the conflict, but is serious about buying Pres Obama time to wriggle out of his predicament. In the meantime, Gelb is willing to set up accusatory strawmen with which to impugn Obama's Republican allies in the fight.

Meantime, I'm beginning to feel nothing but disgust for our "leader" and his rotten gang.
