I was sure Osama bin Laden was dead since December of 2001. Every Afghan I worked with thought so too - they would look kind of weary and kind of amused when people would ask "where do you think he is"....
But it looks like he was in Abbottobad, Pakistan - although not anymore. Now he is buried at sea.

Parties don't seem appropriate. Personally I don't feel any sort of emotion about this. At most I should think a quiet head nod and at most a fist pump would be the thing to do.
If he has had as much influence as a dead man these past years, what difference does it make. Maybe the resources will be realocated, but how much were we actively looking for him and how much were we just keeping our eyes and ears open?
