Signal-Prop

Our WD1 to the 634th FSB broke and we couldn't talk on our TA312 so I went out (again) and fixed it. I didn't have dykes or linesmans' pliers so I had to use my trusty Gerber. I hope the Signaleer is having as much fun as I am.

Did I mention record heat in a place that considers 90 degrees and 80% humidity in September to be "normal?" I'm not complaining because our offices are in an AC building, but:

"Tarzan couldn't stand this heat. I don't think I can stay here if it's going to be this hot."

PS. I purposely put in as much jargon as I could.

Where's your combat patch troop? I guess you never received a response to your inquiry.

My combat patch is waiting for the Army to get their head out of their butt and realize that NOTHING belongs above the US flag.

Actually that will happen when we go to ACUs. Until then I am not going to wear a "combat" patch. I know where I've been. I know what I've done.

That would "Former Wartime Service", not "combat".
(Tho' the 'Prop saw a lot more fire directed at him than any of the rest of us did...)

The full title according to the Army G-1 is "Shoulder Sleeve Insignia - Former Wartime Service (Combat Patch)."

Bigger target . . . well, at least than me. I'm not so sure about you, John.

By the way, your newset Cdr just got announced as the new CoS (in case you hadn't received that memo - it came out yesterday).

Shouldn't you guys be bugging out soon?

the COL told us yesterday. We have decided that we are tired of reacting defensively to hurricanes. Hence, we will attack the center of gravity of this hurricane, should it come near us.

I think all you need to do is throw cold water into the eye of the storm and it will dissipate. It looks like you already have ice and bottled water, so you probably just need some big fans - and you should have this thing licked.

Post more pictures as the battle ensues.

Good luck.

Diagonal (nose) pliers (cutting pliers) are "dikes," meaning "diagonals."

"Dykes" is a perjorative slang term for "lesbians."

There are "lineman's" pliers. A literate error would be "linemen's" pliers. "Linemans'" pliers suggests, well, nothing complimentary.

"Perjorative" is an illiterate spelling of "pejorative." Duh me.
