My blog is worth $60,970.32.
How much is your blog worth?
A Risk Managing Citizen-Retired Soldier, He Who Hunted Heads, A hoopy e-learning frood who is also a generative artist/teacher, A PMP'n Migratory Executive, A Running Dog Capitalist/Economist, A CSM who has had a Kipling Experience and an Author/Prop - Yummy as Krispy Kreme and as strong as Dunkin' Donuts Coffee!
6 Comments:
I have now completed the task of reading all (well mostly all) of your blog. Of course there were a few times when the links didn't work, so darn...
Final comments and notables:
1. LTC John’s ambitious attempt at revamping Coleridge and Doris Day (Now who would have thought those two names could be uttered in the same breath?)
2. Major John’s use of a Tolkien reference on becoming LTC John;
3. Inner Prop feeling inadequate to fill the shoes of LTC John and CSM Bones while they were deployed;
4. Photos of cute kids with CSM Bones, who had been deemed “safe” by said kids;
5. “CSM” is one of the many terms that I was unfamiliar with and had to look up. Very impressive company you keep;
6. Wayyy back at some point, one of you queried why the Australian PM was so interested in an insignificant senator named.... Obama. Hmm... (Did I remember that post correctly?);
7. LTC John in some photos reminds me of Harold Ramis or Edward Herrmann. Sorry. I did say “reminds me of”, not looks like;
8. Inner Prop in some photos reminds me of an old version of... Brendan Fraser, don't know why;
9. If I was feeling like I had made little contribution to the human race, you guys made me feel much worse. But... I’m ok with that.
10. Oh, I forgot. Can rarely fail with photos of food and smiling faces.
Curious to know if you are going to keep up the blog. I've only been blogging less than a year and I have already asked the same of myself a few times. I am amazed that people like you with real lives actually have time to blog.
I have sort of lost my voice, over the years... I am not sure if I will ever get back to the pace I once maintained. But as I have been doing this for 5 plus years, no reason to stop now...
Good to know you are going to keep up the blog. I have linked over to Illini6 to read a bit, and sometimes it seems a tad odd over there.
Odd? I prefer, "interesting."
The Obama reference was me, I just reread that myself and had to laugh. You know, Lincoln was once an insignificant junior Senator from Illinois too.
Brendan Fraser, that's nice, OLD, that's not good. I'll have you know that he is only two years and 28 days younger than me.
I am VERY impressed. I don't think I've read the whole blog. Are you even supposed to do that? I thought blogs were like the bible and nobody actually reads them all the way through.
So, as long as you're out and about (or actually, in and reading) why don't you leave some comments on Illini6. Seriously I'm extremely anxious to get some feedback, good or bad. I do have a poll going now you know, all you have to do it click. That goes for you too LTC John, and CSM Bones.
Drat, I knew something was nagging at me when I wrote that. Lincoln was never a Senator. Teh process was different back then. Twice he attempted a Senate seat and twice was denied.
Wikipedia: "In late 1854, Lincoln decided to run as a Whig for an Illinois seat in the United States Senate (which was at that time elected by the state legislature)."
And again in 1858 more famously against Douglas: "Though the Republican legislative candidates won more popular votes, the Democrats won more seats, and the legislature reelected Douglas."
So Linclon was less than the junior Senator from Illinois, so my point is still valid.
Sorry for the quotes and two long posts in a row, but I've been corrected on my history before and I wanted to set the record straight myself before being called to the mat for it.
Sorry, last time I checked out Illini6, I didn't do the poll, I tried the "which superhero are you" thing.
Speaking of Honest Abe, and seeing as you have a penchant for writing, check out the book: Abraham Lincoln, Vampire Hunter by Seth Grahame-Smith. I did a brief, non-detailed review of it on my blog.
Curious to know if anyone else still comments here, or did they only do so on a regular basis when you guys were deployed?
