AK in the Army?
When provincial officials would visit us, their bodyguards would come on base with their AKs. Well, they were not allowed to tote their rifles around base - so we would hold on to them. I had to admit that one time I felt the urge to strike a pose...

Indeed - which is why we had them out and sperated from where the rifles were kept!
Did you get a chance to fire one? They work pretty well, especially if you don't have to aim.
You're supposed to aim????...
;)
Not if you are Afghan, hence the "In'shallah" (God's Will).
We used to describe the Afghan firing mindset as "release 30 bullets on their flight, God willing, one will strike my enemy".
But for some reason they were dead-eye on with an RPG. Go figure.
The folks around us would run INTO a firefight. I guess it increased the odds of hitting something.
It just occured to me that you look like you are about to go after the guy who sold you that "slider."
