(actually discussed that with a guy that had been in iraq, i know it's generally frowned upon as they can be pretty flea-bitten, however he'd managed to get people to send him flea collars and they had no problems with rodents); 10:06 AM
LTC John said...: We had swarms of cats around Bagram AF. First they subsisted on mice and birds - then the female soldiers got a hold of them...they were clearing the PX of tuna, and having cat food mailed to them to feed feral Afghan cats...oy!; 10:15 AM

prairie biker said...: I won't tell my cat stories from the Kingdom on the blog. Next time we meet in person and can throw back a few beers I'll share. Needless to say, I greatly reduced the cat populations in Riyadh and al Kharj.
