Tempus is PMP'n, but the Major Adjusts
Tempus might be a PMP, and sure he had to study, work many hours, etc., etc. But as for sheer professional clout - BOW DOWN, YOU MORTAL FOOLS, BEFORE HE WHO HAS PASSED THE RHODE ISLAND COMMERCIAL ADJUSTER EXAM. I reckon it took me 1/308th the effort that Tempus had to put in to be a PMP...

You rock! Do you get to do this for each individual state? Which state is the most difficult?
Nah, we get to invoke the magic word..."reciprocity"! I will end up licensed in about 13 states...the only other hard one is California (typical).
Congratulations Major.
Of course, I've been adjusting estimates for years now. It's what we technical leads do. Programmers are far to oriented on the happy path, so when they give me an estimate, I double or triple it to allow for reality intrusion! :-)
Simon: Yes, but then doesn't management automatically take 1/2 or 1/3 of your estimate? :)
I'm in software too -- It's amazing how ineffective our planning is, but even more amazing how everyone knows it but continues to play all the games anyway!
