Iran Outraged over the movie 300.....Blah Blah Blah
Cartoons........Movies........ US/Zionist conspiracy.....Great Satan........Blah Blah Blah. Good movie , but only a movie. Seems the Persians need some thing to whip themselves into a lather. Seems they have a sore spot about the Battle of Thermopylae. Truth is it would be a very different world without the Spartan sacrifice and the victory by the Athenian navy.

I saw a very good show on History International about the battle and what really happened.
They even made it look kind of like the movie, but didn't reference the movie at all.

Have you seen the Jon Stewart response to Iran's outrage? I think he is howlingly funny, even if I don't agree with his politics. Anyway, he explains that Hollywood hammers every ethnicity. It's got a short commerical and then goes right into the clip.

There must have been some angry comments out there.....It is only a movie...realy
It's our old friend the Germano-Islamist. Ready for kibili pillau of Friday night?
Okay, JUST saw it with my father-in-law. It was okay. It was a comic book. A my OTHER Major friend (USMC) would say - it was true to the original historical document - i.e. the Frank Miller comic book.
I found many things to like and dislike. Many POSSIBLE parallels in the movie. But, as the original conflict was set several centuries prior to the advent of Christianity or Islam, the natural discussion should be do we live free and die or submit to slavery?
Side note - interresting that the population of the US is now 300 million.
