Illinois Men's Rugby Football Club, Old Boys 2010:
"Man, this gets harder every year"
"You want me to go in there?"
"Sure, another 40 minutes of game time, why not?!"
Aren't you guys too old to be playing rugby? The body becomes more resistant to recovery once you turn 29... Since finding your blog and posting a comment a couple posts ago, I did, out of curiosity, read a bit from the beginning, and have this to say: 1. You (ie LTC John and Inner Prop) got me chuckling which is always a good thing. 2. It didn't get really interesting until Mighty Quinn joined the fray. 3. I've seen the Kipling reference a couple times, but still no definitive answer. 4. Cannot understand how a cockroach could garner such attention and commentary. 5. Tempus42 is the boredgame guy (that's supposed to be punny) 6. CSM Bones joined at some point with rather brief posts - no effusiveness there. 7. I didn't see much of Amiga3000 and Running Dog. 8. My eyes are tired from being on the computer too long. 9. I'm in retail, so in this economy I have a lot of time on my hands. 10. There has to be a #10.... ayee..I can't think of a #10. I'll be back.
Yes, I am too old for regular play...but at least once a year, we hitthe pitch.
CSM Bones would have to explain the Kipling reference - it was something that happened to him in Afghanistan in 2004.
I still shake my head about the Roach of New Orleans.
I wish my other friends would post - they started to, but tailed off. I chide them every once and again. CSM Bones style is to be brief, yet add alot...
Huzzah! I'd love to play regularly (I'm a bit younger than the ole man, LTC John is a few months older), but I simply don't have the time. I don't know if I could stand it, but I would love to try.
I'm glad you like the blog and honored to have taken part in keeping you at the computer so long.
CSM Bones is a great asset to the blog. In addition to his pithy insight he guilts me to post.
